Welcome

We are pleased to invite you to the first edition of the conference Organelles Transport in Health and Disease, which will be held on December 3-4, 2024 in Grenoble.

In eukaryotic cells, the movement of intracellular components ranging from ions and small metabolites to proteins and micron-scale organelles, underlies the majority of cellular functions. This two-day conference will revolve around organelle transport as a main topic but will be addressed from different research areas such as cell biology, neuroscience, metabolism, and biophysics. The conference will not only focus on the mechanisms regulating the trafficking of membrane-bound organelles in physiological conditions and their role on the maintenance of cellular homeostasis, but will also explore how organelle transport is dysregulated in certain pathological conditions. This multidisciplinary conference will allow us to better understand common but also distinct mechanisms that operate in different cellular types to control organelles dynamics. During the conference, we will allocate time to encourage interactions between senior and junior scientists and bridge the collaboration of researchers with different scientific backgrounds, both in academia or industry.
